Physiotherapy at your hotel in Zurich.
English-speaking physiotherapists who come to you, wherever you are staying in Zurich. We treat in your room, or in the hotel spa or gym if you would rather not have the session upstairs. Evenings and weekends are usually possible, and in most cases we confirm the appointment on the same day you ask.
For hotel guests
Most of what we see in hotels arrives the same way. You get off an eleven-hour flight, go straight into a full day, and by the evening your lower back or your neck has had enough of it. We work manually on whatever has seized up, then leave you with a couple of things you can do in the room between sessions, so the rest of the trip does not turn into a write-off.
With guests here on holiday it tends to be sudden rather than accumulated: an ankle rolled coming down the Uetliberg, a back that locked lifting a suitcase, a shoulder that stopped cooperating after a swim in the lake. In those cases we first work out whether you should see a doctor at all. If something reads as more than a soft-tissue problem, we say so and point you to a practice within walking distance rather than treating around it.
Then there are guests already partway through a course of treatment at home who do not want a fortnight's gap in the middle of it. Bring your exercise programme or your paperwork; MRI reports and surgical notes are genuinely useful, not a formality. We carry on from where your own physiotherapist left off instead of starting from scratch.
Sessions run in English or German, whichever you are more comfortable in. That covers the assessment and the running commentary as well, because it helps to know what is being done to you and why.
For concierge & guest relations
One call or one email is all it takes: the guest's name, the room number and a line about what is wrong. From there we deal with the guest directly, so no scheduling sits on your desk and nothing needs forwarding back and forth.
We arrive at the agreed time, announce ourselves at reception the way your house prefers, and behave accordingly. No marketing material, no approaching other guests, no cards left at the bar. The invoice goes to the guest as a self-pay patient and does not run through the hotel account, so there is no posting to the room bill and nothing for you to reconcile, unless the guest specifically asks for it to be handled differently.
Direct line for houses in Zurich: 076 282 06 88, or termine@physio.ch. We normally reply within the hour, late requests included.
Hotels we serve
Our hotel work centres on the old town and the lakefront, between Bahnhofstrasse and the Limmat, out through Enge, Seefeld and Kreis 5. Distances there are short, which is the whole reason short-notice appointments work at all. We regularly treat guests at and around the following hotels:
- Zurich Marriott Hotel
- Baur au Lac
- The Dolder Grand
- Park Hyatt Zurich
- Storchen Zürich
- Widder Hotel
- Mandarin Oriental Savoy Zurich
- La Réserve Eden au Lac Zurich
- Hotel Schweizerhof Zürich
- Kameha Grand Zurich (Glattpark / airport)
Any other hotel in the city, in the airport area around Kloten and Opfikon, or in Winterthur: just ask. We can usually arrange something there too.
These names describe where we travel to, nothing more. They do not imply any partnership with, endorsement by, or affiliation to the hotels listed.
How it works & rates
For hotel guests this is a self-pay service. You need neither a Swiss prescription nor Swiss health insurance to book. You write to us, we ask a couple of questions about what is going on, and we confirm a time and a room.
A session runs 30 to 60 minutes depending on what you need. The first appointment starts with a short assessment before treatment begins; a stiff neck is often dealt with in half an hour, while an acute back episode or an ongoing rehab plan is better served by the full hour. The rate is CHF 180 per session (60 min.). Travel to you and any materials are included.
You can pay by card, by invoice or with Twint. If you want to claim the session back from an insurer at home, ask for a receipt and you will get one on the spot with the details those claims normally require.
If you do hold a Swiss prescription, the picture changes: we can then bill basic insurance (Grundversicherung), leaving you with your deductible and the standard co-payment. Staying in the region for longer than a hotel visit? We treat at private addresses too. See physiotherapy at home, or the overview of physiotherapy near you.
Frequently asked questions
Do you come to my room?
Yes. Your therapist brings a portable treatment couch and needs no more than a few square metres of floor space. If you would rather not be treated in your room, we can use the hotel gym or spa instead, provided there is a quiet space available. Tell us which you prefer when you get in touch.
Do I need a prescription?
Not to be treated. Hotel guests book as self-pay patients, and no Swiss prescription or Swiss insurance is required for that. A prescription only matters if you want Swiss basic insurance to cover the cost. If you are carrying a referral or reports from home, send them over beforehand and your therapist will read them before arriving.
Do you work evenings and weekends?
On weekdays we treat until 19:30, on Saturdays until 16:30. Later evening slots in the city can often be arranged if your day is full of meetings, so tell us the window that works and we will check availability. We do not treat on Sundays.
How fast can you come?
We answer enquiries within about an hour and confirm the appointment the same day in most cases. Whether we can reach you that same evening depends on how the therapists are routed across the city that day, so the earlier you ask, the more slots there are to choose from.
Do you speak English?
Yes. The assessment, the treatment itself and the exercises you take away are all done in English if you prefer, and so is everything behind the scenes, from scheduling to answering a question from your concierge. German is equally fine.
