We come to you: physiotherapy at home
The closest physiotherapy is your own living room. Our therapists treat you in your flat, your house or your care residence, across both cantons. That matters most when getting to a practice is the hard part: the first weeks after surgery, unsteady walking, or simply no easy way to travel twice a week.
You keep the same therapist for the whole course of treatment, so you are not repeating your history at every session. Once your prescription reaches us, the first visit usually takes place within 48 hours.

Staying in a hotel in Zurich?
Nearest can also mean the hotel you checked into this morning. In the city we treat guests in their room, or in the hotel gym or spa if that suits better. Typically it is a back that stiffened up on a long-haul flight, something that went wrong sightseeing, or simply keeping an ongoing course of treatment going while you are away. No Swiss prescription is needed for that, and evenings and weekends are usually possible.

How it works with Swiss health insurance
The Swiss system turns on one document: a prescription from a doctor, called a Verordnung. Any doctor licensed in Switzerland can issue it, your GP (Hausarzt) as much as the hospital doctor when you are discharged. It usually covers nine sessions.
For treatment at home, the prescription needs one additional note: Domizilbehandlung. It confirms that home treatment is medically justified, and without it the home visit cannot be billed to insurance. Doctors leave it off fairly often, simply because it is not part of their routine. If that happens, we contact the practice and have it added before we start, so you do not have to chase it.
With the prescription in place, mandatory basic insurance (Grundversicherung) covers the treatment and the visit itself. There is no travel surcharge for you. What you pay is the standard Swiss cost share: your annual deductible (Franchise) until it is used up, then a 10 percent co-payment (Selbstbehalt). If travelling is comfortable for you, come to us instead. Many patients start at home after an operation and switch to the practice later, once the journey is manageable again.

Areas we cover
In the canton of Zurich we treat in the city across all districts, and out through the agglomeration to Uster, Dübendorf, Dietikon, Schlieren, Regensdorf, Wädenswil and Bülach. The Zurich airport area is well covered too, Kloten and Opfikon included, where a good share of our English-speaking patients live. Winterthur is our base in the north of the canton.
In Thurgau we work out of Frauenfeld into the surrounding villages, through the Hinterthurgau around Aadorf, Sirnach and Münchwilen, and along Lake Constance to Kreuzlingen, Amriswil, Arbon and Romanshorn.

Who home-visit physiotherapy is for
After surgery or a hospital stay
Following hip, knee, shoulder or spinal surgery, the journey to a practice is usually the hardest part of the week. Treatment at home closes the gap between discharge and moving around independently again.
Older patients
Strength, balance and safe movement are best trained where they are actually needed: on your own stairs, in your own bathroom, getting out of your own chair. We also treat in retirement and care residences.
Neurological conditions
After a stroke, or living with Parkinson's or MS, therapy needs to be regular to help. Organising transport twice a week is what usually breaks that rhythm, so we bring the session to you instead.
Relatives organising care
If you are arranging treatment for a parent or partner, send us the prescription and the address. We handle scheduling, travel and billing, and keep you updated on how things are going.
